1. Am I entitled to compensation?

The railway companies participating in the Eurail and InterRail Pass schemes have defined a set of guidelines for Eurail and InterRail Pass Holders, whereby the Eurail Group may offer compensation, in certain cases, for delays experienced.

To find out if you are entitled to any compensation for the delays you experienced during your Eurail or InterRail trip, please consult the Compensation Flowchart below. Please note that the minimal compensation level is € 16. Any compensation lower than € 16 will not be processed by the Eurail Group.

2. How to submit a compensation request

All requests for compensation must be sent to the Eurail Group and the following documentation must be included (please note that if any of the requested documentation is not provided, your request will not be processed):

Eurail Pass Customers:

  • A completed and signed Compensation Request Form (please download and print)
  • A copy of your Eurail Pass (or the original pass)
  • Your original Eurail Pass Cover with the Travel Report duly filled in


InterRail Pass Customers:

  • A completed and signed Compensation Request Form (please download and print)
  • A copy of your InterRail Pass
  • Your original InterRail Pass Cover with the Travel Report duly filled in (applicable for InterRail Global Pass only)

All documentation must be submitted within 6 months following the expiration date of your pass.

Please print this address label and attach it to the envelope in order for your documentation to be sent FREEPOST (no stamp required) to the Eurail Group.
