Train information

The national railway company is Societe Nationale des Chemins de Fer Luxembourgeois (CFL): www.cfl.lu
Train types: TGV (high speed trains), reservations are required; Express (RE and RB)
and InterCity (IC), reservations are not required.
Bikes are allowed on most trains free of charge.

Ferries, ships, buses… everything but train

CFL (see above) operates both buses and trains in the country. Bus services cover
virtually all locations; however, in some villages there are only a couple of buses per
day and even less on public holidays. Timetables can be found at: www.mobiliteit.lu
The City of Luxembourg is served by a good bus network, more information can be
found at: www.vdl.lu (in French only).

Food and drink

Eat Fritten, Ham en Zalot (fries, ham and salad); Bouneschlupp (bean soup), Judd Mat
Gaardebounen (smoked pork with broad beans) and Quetschentaart (plum tart).

Accommodation

Hotels can be found everywhere. Look for the Ecolabel at marked hotels if you are
concerned about environmentally friendly accommodation.
