SPECIAL FEATURES
The Inlandsbanan is 1300 km long, starts in Kristinehamn in the south and ends in Gällivare in the north. The Railway is open for tourist traffic with daily departures from the beginning of June until the end of August. At other times of the year, it is only open for chartered arrangements. The stretch Kristinehamn – Mora is open during the high season and the journey is by bus 2012 due to maintenance of the railway at that stretch. 
As a passenger on the Inlandsbanan you have a wide range of options. You could choose an exciting tour package, use the Inlandsbanan card or take one or more separate journeys. Regardless of whether you decide to go on a package tour or to travel independently, a journey on the Inlandsbanan is an experience in itself. Our highly competent train hosts are onboard. As well as helping with practical matters, the hosts also act as guides and can tell you more about what you can see through the train window.  They can also suggest ideas for lovely places to stop along the way, where you can enjoy the peace and quiet of a lake shore, go fishing, pick berries or go on an exciting outing. The train makes stops for meals and coffee breaks en-route. The menu is in the food folder onboard and the train hosts will take your orders. When the train pulls into the station, your order will be waiting for you. Then you just need to enjoy the freshly baked cinnamon buns or waffles before the train continues on its way.   
There are lots of interesting and unusual places to visit along the Inlandsbanan. There are activities for all the family, different types of cultural events, golf, riding, fishing, hiking either along trails or independently in national parks and in the mountains

EURAIL PASS HOLDERS
Eurail Passes are valid on the Inlandsbanan. Seat reservation for groups is compulsory, for individuals recommended. The reservation fee is SEK 50 per person per day.
